Fort Mitchell Country Club has been a cornerstone of a community and tradition since 1904. With over a century of rich history, FMCC has grown from a quiet escape into a vibrant gathering place for families, friends, and neighbors. Our legacy is built on timeless values, lasting friendships and a commitment to exceptional experiences - on and off the course.

1903 - 1909

A streetcar line was built along the Club property (1903), the Club was incorporated with 128 members and opened its Clubhouse and golf course (1904), Orchard Road was constructed to connect to the Clubhouse (1907), and the Annex was added to improve facilities and provide flexible space (1909).

1920

The entire golf course was rebuilt under the direction of A. N. McPheeters. He was borrowed from the French Lick Golf Course, but he became fond of Fort Mitchell and remained a Grounds Superintendent for a number of years.

1930-1945

The Club was deeded to trustees (1930), entered and restructured from bankruptcy (1935–1940), built its first swimming pool (1942), and obtained a liquor license (1945), ending the bring-your-own-bottle era.

1961-1967

A larger swimming pool was built (1961), a fairway watering system installed (1964), and the cities of Fort Mitchell and South Fort Mitchell merged under the name Fort Mitchell (1967).

1970-1971

A fire damaged the Clubhouse in February 1970. Members approved construction of a new building, which was completed and opened with an Open House on August 14, 1971.

1975-1990

New tennis courts were built (1975), followed by a new L-shaped pool and snack shop (1990).

2021

December 16th, Grand Opening of the Pavilion. Our open-air bar becomes an instant favorite. With retractable glass doors, heaters, and seasonal vibes, it’s the go to spot for summer cocktails and cozy winter nights alike.
